I’m not sure how deep the actually cut is on a radius dish. Could they be made from 24ā€ round 1ā€ white pine?

Phil,

Check out this link for a recent discussion on ploting the radius for sanding jigs.

I think the reason that plywood or MDF is typically used for this jig is because they are very stable and tend not to warp or twist. I would think that the pine would warp or twist or crack on you, but don't take me word for it. That's just my thought, nothing scientific.

The depth of a 15' radius on a 24" dish .4 or 13/32
25' radius on a 24" dish .24
as Rod stated, warp or twist could be a issue.
I would be surprised, if it didn't twist.
